I’d be honest, smoothie bowls are a new thing for me. I’m not necessarily the biggest fan of preparing smoothie bowls since I rather have my smoothie in a cup and on the go. However, since I had so much time to myself recently and felt more comfortable relaxing at home, I decided to make one.

And friend, It came out super thick and yummy!

One thing I love so much about smoothie bowls is the fact that I can have as much as my heart’s desire and top it up with some delicious fruits. Plus smoothie bowls tend to have more thickness compared to regular cup smoothies which require a lot of ice or liquid.

As mentioned in my previous post, I’m not the biggest fan of green smoothies, simply because of the veggie taste in some of it. However, I do love it when the veggies are mixed with a ton of fruits (especially mango or peaches).

Getting the perfect smoothie bowl requires getting a strong blender that won’t require liquid in order to operate effectively. I say this because you want your smoothie bowl to be thick, not liquidy. And if you settle for an average blender, you will have to add some extra liquid in order for the blender to cut through your fruits and veggies.

Also, make sure you freeze your fruits a day before preparing your smoothie or a couple of hours before. Having your smoothie bowl chilled makes the texture come out like frozen icecream the moment it’s blended. And that makes it taste absolutely delicious.

For toppings, I added some blueberries and bananas. I also crumbled some coconut cookies I had leftover, but you can skip this step if you wish or substitute it with coconut flakes, walnut, cashews or almonds. It is completely optional and all up to you.
