Easy Ginger Lemon Honey Iced Tea Recipe

Homemade ginger lemon honey iced tea is not only healthier than store-bought versions but also fully customizable to your taste. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a refreshing drink that supports your immune system and satisfies your thirst.

Lately, I’ve been drinking a lot of iced tea, and let me tell you–nothing beats this homemade ginger lemon honey iced tea.

This simple recipe is not only delicious but also packed with natural ingredients that offer numerous health benefits.

Whether you’re a fan of ginger and honey iced tea for its soothing properties or its strong, refreshing flavor, this recipe will become your go-to drink year-round.

Why Choose Ginger Lemon Honey Iced Tea?

Similar to my ginger cinnamon lemon tea, this beverage combines three powerhouse ingredients that I can’t stop raving about:

  • Ginger: Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, ginger adds a slightly spicy kick to the tea.
  • Honey: A natural sweetener that also offers antimicrobial properties, making the tea naturally sweet and nourishing.
  • Lemon: Packed with vitamin C, lemon juice adds some extra flavor to the tea while supporting immune health.

Together, these ingredients create a perfectly balanced drink that’s as good for your body as it is for your taste buds.

Ingredients You’ll Need For Ginger Honey Iced Tea

Ginger Honey Tea Bags: I like to use ginger honey tea bags to make the process faster. However, you can always use raw ginger if you like. I recommend choosing high-quality tea bags for the best flavor.

Hot Water: You’ll need about 4 cups of boiling water to steep the tea and bring out its rich flavors.

Honey: I like to use raw or organic honey for its natural sweetness and health benefits. Adjust the amount to suit your taste—2-3 tablespoons usually work well.

Sometimes, I will also use monk fruit sweetener if I’m trying to reduce my sugar intake. So feel free to use it as a great substitute.

Fresh Lemon Juice: Squeeze the juice of one fresh lemon for a nice citrusy flavor. Freshly squeezed juice is always better than bottled for this recipe.

Ice: Lots of ice cubes to chill your tea quickly and make it ultra-refreshing.

Lemon Slices: Optional, but they make for a beautiful garnish and add a little extra lemony goodness.

How to Make Ginger and Honey Iced Tea

Follow these simple steps to prepare your iced tea:

Step 1: Brew the Tea

In a heatproof pitcher or pot, steep the ginger honey tea bags in 4 cups of boiling water for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired tea strength.

Remove the tea bags and discard them.

Step 2: Sweeten with Honey And Add Lemon

While the tea is still hot, stir in the honey or monkfruit until it fully dissolves. Adjust the sweetness to your preference.

Allow the tea to cool slightly before stirring in the freshly squeezed lemon juice. This ensures the lemon’s flavor shines through.

Step 3: Chill the Ginger Honey Tea and Serve Over Ice

Let the tea cool to room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour.

Fill a glass with ice cubes, pour the chilled ginger lemon honey tea over the ice, and garnish with a slice of lemon for an extra touch of elegance.

Optional Variations

  • Minty Fresh: Add a sprig of fresh mint for a refreshing twist.
  • Fizzy Iced Tea: Top with sparkling water for a bubbly version.
  • Spiced Up: Add a pinch of cinnamon or a splash of vanilla extract for added warmth and complexity.
