This super simple yet easy thin cut beef brisket recipe will become your new favorite dish.

No joke. After making this, you won’t need to drive to a Korean BBQ for beef brisket.

This recipe is not only delicious but also incredibly simple. The best part? It only requires four ingredients, making it a breeze to prepare.

Since I discovered Korean BBQ (thanks to my meat-loving husband), I’ve always been interested in their beef brisket.

Recently, I found thin cut beef brisket at my local international grocery store, so you know I had to make my recipe.

Anyway, if you love beef brisket as much as I do, I recommend you try this recipe.

Ingredients for Thin Cut Beef Brisket Recipe on Kitchen Counter

Ingredients you will need for your brisket

Beef Brisket Thin Cut: Don’t purchase a slab of beef brisket. You specifically want the thin cut, which you can find at many Asian or international grocery stores. I once bought a slab of beef brisket and tried to cut it thinly, but it failed. So, I recommend getting it pre-cut.

Chili Garlic Sauce: This is a must-have ingredient. Don’t even think of skipping it if you’re one of those who read recipes but never follow them word for word. Chili Garlic Sauce is like a secret ingredient that takes this dish to a new level of deliciousness.

Salt: Less is more, so don’t coat your meat with too much salt. For this recipe, half a teaspoon is more than enough.

Oil: I always use avocado oil in my cooking, but you can use any oil you choose.

How To Make Thin Cut Beef Brisket

To make the juiciest beef brisket, grab all your ingredients together and follow these steps to ensure they come up finger licking good.

Step 1: Combine oil and Garlic Sauce

Heat two tablespoons of oil in a large pan on medium heat and add chili garlic sauce. Stir the mixture to combine thoroughly. If you’re using a grill for this recipe, add the chili garlic sauce in step 2.

Step 2: Add thin cut beef brisket

Next, add your brisket to the pan and some salt to taste. Cook on low to medium heat until the brisket turns brown. This gradual cooking is key to ensuring the meat becomes perfectly browned without drying out.

Step 3: Serve your final dish

Once your brisket is ready, turn off the heat and serve over rice or orzo. I usually serve mine with rice, as I’m typically used to eating it at Korean BBQ. However, this goes well with sandwiches or in a tortilla wrap.

Why this brisket recipe works

This recipe works because of the few ingredients used. Unlike most meaty dishes, which require many seasonings to add flavor, this thin cut beef brisket recipe only involves salt.

The reason is that beef brisket itself has a wonderful natural flavor that only needs to be enhanced with salt.

On the other hand, the chili garlic sauce is not just a condiment in this recipe. It adds an additional layer of flavor that balances the brisket’s savory taste and gives it a unique kick.

Thus, if you decide to make this dish, I recommend not going overboard with the seasonings. A little salt or even black pepper is more than enough.

Additional Notes:

Choosing Your Brisket: The success of this recipe hinges on using thin-cut beef brisket, which ensures quick cooking and maximum flavor absorption.

Customization: Feel free to adjust the amount of chili garlic sauce according to your spice preference. The recipe is flexible and can be modified to suit your taste.

Storage: Leftover brisket can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, making it perfect for meal prep.

Hope you enjoy this dish as much as I did!

  • 1 lb beef brisket thin cut
  • 2 tbsp chili garlic sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil - I used avocado oil, but any oil works

  • In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the chili garlic sauce. Stir well to combine the ingredients. This step is essential for infusing the oil with flavor. If you’re opting to cook on a grill, incorporate the chili garlic sauce directly with the brisket in the next step.
  • Add the thin-cut beef brisket to the pan, sprinkling it with the half teaspoon of salt. Adjust the heat to low or medium, allowing the brisket to cook slowly. Cook until the brisket is thoroughly browned, which should take about 10-15 minutes depending on the thickness of the cut.
  • Once the brisket is cooked to your liking, remove the pan from the heat. Serve your thin cut beef brisket with rice or wrapped in a tortilla
