If your life has been feeling all over the place lately… I get it.
There are weeks where everything just piles up. Your space is messy, your mind feels cluttered, and somehow Monday shows up before you even feel ready.
That’s exactly why I started following my weekly reset checklist.
This is not something extreme or unrealistic… just a simple routine that helps me reset my life, clear my mind, and actually feel prepared for the week ahead.
If you’ve been needing that kind of reset, this is for you.
What is a weekly reset checklist?
A weekly reset checklist is basically a routine you do once a week to get your life back together.
It’s a system that helps you feel more grounded, less overwhelmed, and a little more motivated going into a new week.
A lot of people also call this a sunday reset routine because Sunday is usually the best time to slow down and reset before Monday hits.
But I usually do mine mid-week using my checklist.
And honestly… it makes such a difference.

1. Reset your space first
I always start here because your environment really does affect your mindset.
When my space feels chaotic, I feel chaotic too. It’s immediate.
This is one of the first things I focus on in my weekly reset checklist and even my sunday reset routine, because cleaning up creates a sense of calm almost instantly.
I’m not deep cleaning my entire apartment.
I’m just putting things back, wiping surfaces, making my bed… doing enough to make my space feel peaceful again.
Once your space feels better, everything else starts to feel easier.
2. Check in with yourself
Before I start planning anything, I pause and reflect.
I think about how the week is going. Not just what I got done, but how I felt while doing it.
This part is so underrated.
A good weekly reset checklist isn’t just about productivity… it’s about awareness.
You start to notice patterns. The things that are draining you. What feels good and what needs to change.
And once you’re aware of those things, you can actually build a week that works for you.

3. Be honest about your weekly plan
This is where I had to be honest with myself.
I used to plan my weeks like I had unlimited energy… and then feel like I failed when I couldn’t keep up.
Now I plan based on my actual life.
Your weekly reset checklist should support you, not overwhelm you.
You don’t need to fill every hour. Instead you just need to focus on what actually matters.
According to research from the American Psychological Association, chronic stress is often linked to feeling overwhelmed and lacking control over your schedule.
Planning your week realistically can help reduce that stress and improve overall well-being.
So instead of overloading your week, give yourself space.

4. Do a simple meal prep
This doesn’t have to be intense at all.
Even something small can make your week so much easier. Sometimes I just plan my meals or decide what I’m going to order as takeout so I don’t have to think about it later.
It saves time, reduces decision fatigue, and helps you stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.
And if you’re someone who struggles with eating regularly or making healthy choices during busy weeks… this part of your weekly reset checklist is huge.

5. Reset your digital space
We always talk about cleaning our physical space… but your digital space matters too.
If your phone is full of notifications, unread emails, random screenshots… it adds to that mental clutter.
And I’m guilty of this as someone who always ends up with a gazillion folders on my mac that I constantly need to trash.
So I take a little time to clean things up. I go through emails, organize notes, delete what I don’t need.
It’s such a small thing, but it makes everything feel lighter.
6. Protect your energy going into the week
This is one of the most important parts of any weekly reset checklist.
If you don’t decide how your energy is going to be used, your week will decide for you.
So I go into my week knowing what I’m prioritizing and what I’m not entertaining.
That might mean setting boundaries, saying no to things that drain you, or just being more intentional with your time.
Especially if you deal with burnout or even things like ADHD overwhelm… this step makes a huge difference.

7. Do something that brings you back to yourself
Not everything in your weekly reset checklist needs to be productive.
Sometimes the most important part is just slowing down.
That could be journaling, going for a walk, getting into meditation, or even doing nothing for a bit.
Because at the end of the day, a reset isn’t just about doing more… it’s about feeling better.
Why a weekly reset checklist actually works
When you start following a weekly reset checklist, your life starts to feel more intentional.
You’re not constantly reacting to everything. Instead, you’re creating a rhythm that supports you.
And over time, these small weekly resets start to change the way your life flows… you’re not just surviving your weeks anymore, you’re actually moving through them with purpose.
